What to Expect
Our orthodontic consultations set us apart from other providers in the area. When you or your child is scheduled for a consultation with TPD Smiles, the first step is to gather data. Since the vast majority of our orthodontic patients are already being treated within our office system, there is already an established need for orthodontic treatment by one of our doctors. This need has become apparent through the process of the patient’s bi-annual cleaning appointments.
Before we begin orthodontic treatment, we discuss your concerns thoroughly and take multiple images and x-rays. We then proceed with a custom presentation specifically for you that shows you our findings, recommendations for treatment, dental appliances needed, and costs. It is important to us to provide you with all the information we can from the very beginning. We want you to know what to expect, have time to ask questions, and consider your options. Our goal is that you feel confident you made the best decisions regarding your orthodontic care. At the conclusion of the consultation appointment, the parent/patient can decide when and if they would like to move forward with treatment.
From the moment one of our dentists sees a patient with an orthodontic need at either of our dentistry practices, Texas Pediatric Dentistry or Stonebridge Ranch Dentistry, patients can be evaluated and begin orthodontic treatment if needed right here within our family of facilities. There is no waiting for referral appointments, transferring of records, or having to start at a new practice you have never been to before. Most importantly, you know you or your child is already in excellent hands.
Three Practices – One Family
In the fall of 2006, Dr. Tim Brister opened his first practice, Texas Pediatric Dentistry, in a small-leased office on the McKinney/Frisco border. This full-service pediatric office quickly began to grow, and soon developed a reputation as a family-oriented, no-pressure, quality care office that was focused on patients’ needs.
Through the years, the parents of our patients would comment about how they would love to be treated in the same office as their children, since they were comfortable with the location, staff, and atmosphere of the practice. In 2012, TPD had outgrown its current leased space, so Dr. Tim purchased a piece of property just down the road with plans to build his own building. Dr. Tim seriously considered the parents’ requests and decided to bring in a general dentist to treat the parents in the same building as their children, thus creating Stonebridge Ranch Dentistry and the ability to treat the entire family under one roof.
Within 1 year, it was clear he had a good problem: the general dentistry practice had outgrown the office it shared with the pediatric practice and would need its own space. Again, Dr. Tim found the perfect piece of property just down the street on a nearby greenbelt and built what is now a beautiful, state-of-the-art office that provides that same no-pressure, quality care that we became known for over a decade ago.
The next natural progression in our practices was to expand and offer additional services that our patients needed the most. Orthodontics was the most logical option, as many of our patients of all ages were interested in working to correct their smile.
Though there are 3 practices, they are completely intertwined, including the staff, doctors, patient charts, and the ability to take care of your entire family. Our goal is to offer comprehensive care for all of our patients. This eliminates the need for outside referrals and gives our patients a place to receive their dental care in facilities that are warm and welcoming, with staff members who are already invested in providing the ultimate level of service.
Insurance & Payment Options
We realize orthodontic treatment is an investment and don’t want to let finances stand in your way for achieving the beautiful, healthy smile you deserve! We are pleased to offer flexible in-house financing options to help make your treatment more affordable. This flexible payment option allows you to pay for your treatment over a period of time so you can focus on what matters most – keeping your smile healthy! As an added courtesy, we offer savings to multiple family members receiving treatment, teachers, first responders and for payment-in-full upfront.
We also offer financing options through Care Credit, a credit line for healthcare and beauty treatments and procedures.
Flex spending accounts offered by many employers allows our patients to set aside an allotted amount for future medical needs. Great news, orthodontics is considered a medical expense and you can pay for treatment with pre-tax dollars. Many companies are offering FLEX cards that work much like a credit card while others require that you submit receipts for services. Please let us know your individual needs and we will assist you in the process of obtaining your specific reimbursement.
Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. We are happy to file with any PPO plan and will submit all insurance claims for you. We will fully attempt to help you receive full insurance benefits; however, you are personally responsible for your account. If you change dental insurance companies or join another employer’s dental plan, please be sure to let us know. We encourage you to contact us if your policy has not been active within 30 days.
