Dr. Lily grew up in Dallas, TX and then moved to San Diego in high school when she decided to pursue a career that makes people smile and increases their confidence. During high school, she was an active participant in the community as a musician in the San Diego Youth Symphony Orchestra, Civic Youth Orchestra, various ensembles at her high school, and was a student leader in ASB. She graduated as a National Honor Student and traveled to New York to pursue a biology major at Vassar College. She spent her junior year abroad at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland as a visiting medical student. During her college years, Dr. Workman volunteered in the health community, numerous musical ensembles, and as a tutor/research assistant in organic chemistry.
Dr. Lily attended dental school at the University of California, San Francisco. She was a national leader in the American Student Dental Association, received Article of the Year award for a national publication addressing access to care, was elected Who’s Who at UCSF by the Dean, presented scientific research at an international symposium, and was involved with the local symphony. She spent her residency at Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics where she continued her extracurricular involvement with music. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. During her time in San Diego, she worked as an associate for several practices and then started a successful practice from scratch in San Diego for 7 years.
Dr. Lily and her family recently decided to move back to Texas to be closer to family. She is excited to join the TPD Smiles team and to share her passion with patients and the team. Outside of work, Dr. Lily has two children and loves spending time with her immediate and extended family. She is active in her faith and involved with her church. She also enjoys cooking and hosting. She is a horse lover and competed at the local and national level of showjumping, played trumpet in local musical ensembles, and competed on the national level for bodybuilding. She is passionate about anything that helps build and grow our faith, bodies, and mind. She loves orthodontics because it embraces this, helping others to improve their self-image and health through a better occlusion and smile.
